I am too old now... even tending to the banana plants has become a struggle. I had dreamed of renovating our house, of giving it new life, but my strength is gone.

The building blocks to fix our roof still sit up in the attic, gathering dust. I suppose they will remain there forever, untouched — just like so many of the plans I once had.

And yet... my wife is proud of all that I have already done. That thought brings me comfort. Perhaps it is enough. I am enough.
